As a super serious photographer you are not supposed to play in photoshop and create super silly filter effects. I’m so ashamed… :-)

I was in the mood for some colors today!

This is another shot from Cool Springs Camp, Arizona. Same location as the Desert Wreck posted a few weeks ago.

This is the famous Supai Motel in Seligman, Arizona. It’s “our” car to the right.

As we begun our Route 66 road trip last year, we spent two days in Chicago. The first thing we did was the guided boat tour on the Chicago River.

This is 333 West Wacker Drive, a 1983 creation from Kohn Pedersen Fox. A glass building which is curved to reflect the shape of the Chicago River and has a green tint similar to the colour of the river in its glass.

Google this address, and you will find many similar photos.

Sorry folks, I have no knowledge of old cars and have no idea what make this is. Anyone more enlightened, please leave a comment.

Anyway, this car of some sort, was found somehere in or very close to Arcadia, Oklahoma.

I still dig into my library of shots from the Route 66 roadtrip since I don’t have much fresh material. I look forward for October. One trip to France, and another one to New York is on the schedule. And with my new 5D camera it will be fun!

This is a view from Cool Springs Camp, along the Route 66 in Arizona.

Today I hooked up my MacBook Air with my external Samsung SyncMaster monitor, calibrated both of them, and run Lightroom with a secondary display. Anyone in doubt that the MBA can’t handle serious image editing are wrong – it works great. At least with Lightroom 2.0. Aperture is a bit slower, but still useable. Of course, a machine with higher spec’s is faster… but I love my MBA anyway! :-)

About this photo: It’s entirely made in Lightroom, no Photoshop. I made a greyscale conversion, and later applied a duo tone shade to it. I felt happy with it and exported it directly from LR.

This is the very first Phillips 66 gas station in America. It was build in 1929 at McLean, Texas. It’s now preserved and visitors travelling Route 66 can enjoy a piece of history.

There’s an article about Phillips 66 on Wikipedia, and someone is collecting photos of Phillips 66 signs.

Here’s another motel sign found along Route 66. I don’t know why I like those old rusty signs. If they could talk I’m sure they would have many great stories to tell from the past.

This sign can be seen is Springfield, Illinois. I did a quick Google search and found James Kalemis Route 66 page, and I do recognise most of his photos.

I wanted to play with HDR today, and this is the outcome. To be honest, this is not a “real” HDR image – it’s made from one single RAW-file processed with different exposure settings, ranging from -3 to +2 with a total of 6 files.

This intersection can be found in El Remo, Oklahoma, and was shot from the car while passing by.
